India vs England 2nd test :
Last week in Hyderabad, England achieved more history by defeating India in the first test by 28 runs in a thrilling conclusion, with newcomer Tom Hartley picking up seven wickets in the second innings, changing the direction of the series and match.
Despite scoring over 130 runs in the first innings, Tom Hartley came back and adjusted his length to help England clinch a tremendous and historical victory over India. but Brendon Mc Cullum made a huge statement before the second test.
Star Of The First Test TOM :
Tom Hartley, a left-arm off-spinner, arrived in India with no experience and went for much in the first innings, picking up seven crucial wickets that left Indian batsmen perplexed.
Tom Hartley not only won the first Test for England, but he also weakened the Indian batters’ attitude, and India will have to confront the onslaught in the coming four matches.
It’ll be fascinating to watch how Indian batsmen react to his challenges.
England BAZZBALL Tactics Come into the play :
England’s approach in the first test second innings was aggressive, scoring 430 runs in the second innings with their style of play. After leading the five-match test series, England would do everything it could to prevent something like this from happening in Vizag.
Their aggressive head coach, BrendonMcCullum, has already started playing mind games, sending an indirect message to India in their backyard.
Brendon Mccullum Statement :
McCullum told SENZ Radio that England is open to using all-spin bowling options if necessary.
Spinner Bashir has joined the England squad after resolving visa concerns, and England now has five spinners, including Joe Root, who bowled remarkably effectively in the Hyderabad Test.
Pitch and Spinning Conditions :
On a similar topic, Brendon McCullum warned that if the pitch does favor spinners, the English side will not be afraid to field an all-spin attack, implying that uncapped spinner Shoaib Bashir, who missed out on Hyderabad due to visa issues, may make his debut.
However, front-line senior spinner Jack Leach‘s knee issue may be a worry for England but with Root, Rehan, and Bashir newly arrived in India.
England will have still four spinning options and can replace wood easily which is not even the focus point and can easily replaced by new batter if situations demand.
Aggression to adapting to the conditions :
Ollie Pope the hero of the Hyderabad test said in the media that if the wickets turn from ist day in India we dont complain about that but Surprisingly Ben Stokes and co. took the challenge and successfully executed and stunned the Indian attack at the same time.
The former New Zealand Skipper said to the media that if wickets continue to behave in this manner for the rest of the series we won’t hesitate at least to play all four spinners in the second test..
Quote: “We won’t be afraid to play all of the spinning options because of the balance we got,” – brendon mc cullum
Sometimes we need to be a little brave in selections he added.
Shoaib (Bashir) was obviously with us throughout our camp in Abu Dhabi, and he was quite impressed with his skill set.
England skipper Ben Stokes showed tremendous trust in his spinners to finish the job as despite getting hammered for numerous runs in the first innings, Tom Hartley bounced back in the second innings to take up seven wickets and shred the Indian batting lineup.
England adopted in India this method, and they want to play like India in their backyard.
India to Face Big Challenge :
Rohit Sharma’s India was hit by Rahul and Jadeja injuries, due to Virat Kohli’s unavailability, India will surely gonna face so many challenges on their turf.
India will need to quickly come over from the first test loss and bring their best game to the second Test to win and tie the series.
This is a long series, and both teams will need to be persistent in their approach to win. Interesting to watch if India comes up with playing four spinning options after Mc Cullum’s Statement.
