India tour of Zimbabwe 2024: These days, under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the Indian team is playing a series of 5 Test matches with the England team. And after the conclusion of this series, Team India will play its next international match during the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The beginning of this World Cup is scheduled for June 1, hosted by West Indies and America. There is still plenty of time left for the upcoming World Cup, but discussions about it have already intensified.
In the same vein, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has now announced the Zimbabwe tour, where Team India is set to play a series of 5 T20I matches. The beginning of this series is scheduled immediately after the conclusion of the T20 World Cup 2024. So let’s delve into the entire schedule of this series. Team India will tour Zimbabwe after T20 World Cup 2024
Actually, the T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to start from June 1st. It is being hosted by West Indies and America in their countries. There is much excitement for this World Cup. Team India will kick off its journey in the upcoming T20 World Cup from June 5th, where it has to play its first match against the Ireland team. And the final match of this tournament, i.e., the T20 World Cup 2024 final, will be played on July 29th.
Just a few days after the conclusion of this T20 World Cup, the Indian team will have to depart for Zimbabwe. There, it has to play a series of 5 T20I matches with the Zimbabwe cricket team. The first match of this series will be played on July 6th, while the final match of the series will take place on July 14th.
You will be surprised to know that Team India will play T20 Series on Zimbabwean soil again after a gap of 8 years. India last played a T20I series during the Zimbabwe tour in 2016, during which India played a series of 3 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 3 T20I matches.

Indian team will play on Zimbabwean soil after 8 years!
It should be noted that the BCCI and Zimbabwe announced this series on Tuesday. Team India is set to go on the Zimbabwe tour for this 5-match T20 series, where the series will commence on July 6th. The fifth match of the series will be played on July 14th. All the matches of this series will be played in Harare. Let me tell you that Zimbabwe has previously hosted the India-Zimbabwe bilateral T20I series three times. Prior to this, Zimbabwe hosted in 2010, 2015, and 2016.
During the year 2016, Team India played a series of 3 ODIs and 3 T20I matches. During that period, under the captaincy of Captain Cool MS Dhoni, India won the ODI series 3-0 and the T20 series 2-1. While Team India last toured Zimbabwe in the year 2022, during which India played only a series of 3 One Day Internationals (ODIs). Leading the Indian team in that series was KL Rahul, and under his leadership, India achieved a victory with a 3-0 scoreline.
Similarly, this time too, the Indian team is expected to perform exceptionally well during the Zimbabwe tour. All matches of the India-Zimbabwe T20I series will be played at 4:30 PM Indian Standard Time.
