#6 – 35 – South Africa vs West Indies in Centurion, 2023

The second game of the T20I series between South Africa and West Indies was played at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. West Indies posted 258 on the board at the end of their 20 overs and the Proteas chased it down with seven balls to spare. There were twin centuries in that game.

It was a run-fest in Centurion and a total of 35 sixes were hit in that game. The Caribbean side hit 22 sixes, with Johnson Charles hitting 11 alone. The hosts hit 13 maximums, with Quinton de Kock hitting eight of those.

#5 – 35 – Jamaica Tallawahs vs Trinbago Knight Riders in Kingston, CPL 2019

The 10th match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2019 was played between the Jamaica Tallawahs and the Trinbago Knight Riders at Sabina Park in Kingston. Players from both sides kept hitting sixes for fun and all in all, 35 times the ball cleared the ropes that night.

The Knight Riders hit 17 sixes in their innings which powered them to 267/2. In reply, the Tallawahs fell short by 41 runs but not before hitting 18 biggies. The fans that night went wild on seeing the bowlers go on a journey.

#4 – 36 – Titans vs Knights in Potchefstroom, CSA T20 Challenge 2022

Dewald Brevis, often known as Baby-Ab went berserk for the Titans in the 25th match of the CSA T20 Challenge 2022. Opening the batting, he smashed 13 sixes and as many boundaries to score 162 off just 57 balls which helped his side get to 271/3. In reply, the Knight tried hard but losing regular wickets meant that they lost the game by 41 runs.

Over 500 runs were scored in that game and the ball was absolutely flying over the ropes. A total of 36 maximums were hit in that crazy game of cricket. The batters were on a six-hitting spree throughout that course of the game.

The seventh match of CPL 2019 was played at Warner Park in Basseterre between St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Jamaica Tallawahs. The Universe Boss – Chris Gayle lit up the stadium with a scintillating century for the Tallawahs. He scored 116 off just 62 balls which included 10 sixes.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots chased down the target of 242 set by the Tallawahs in the penultimate over. It is a clear indication of the bowlers’ state. They had a forgettable time as a total of 37 sixes were hit in that game. It is the most in a single game in the history of the CPL.

#2 – 37 – Balkh Legends vs Kabul Zwanan in Sharjah, APL 2018

The Sharjah Cricket Ground in Sharjah is smaller as compared to the other venues around the world and the batters love playing here. The bowlers hate as even mis-hits from the batters go over the fence. Such was the case when the Balkh Legends faced the Kabul Zwanan in the 14th match of the Afghanistan Premier League (APL) 2018.

Chris Gayle went berserk at the top of the order for the Legends and smoked 10 biggies. The Legends hit a total of 23 sixes in their innings. In reply, Hazratullah Zazai cleared the ropes seven times. Zwanan hit 14 maximums to take the tally to 37 in the match, the second most in a Men’s T20 match.

#1 – 38 – Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Mumbai Indians in Hyderabad, IPL 2023

Several records were broken when the Sunrisers Hyderabad hosted the Mumbai Indians in the eighth match of the IPL 2024. This high-scoring affair was played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad and the fans were treated to an absolute crazy game.

A total of 523 runs were scored in the game and a total of 38 sixes were hit over the course of the 40 overs. SRH hit 18 of those whereas MI hit 20. The record for the most sixes in a Men’s T20 match was broken that night and you could see the bowlers being left clueless on getting hit all around the park.
