India Secures Convincing 6-Wicket Victory Over Afghanistan in First T20, Takes 1-0 Series

Rahmanullah Gurbaz contributed 23 runs, Ibrahim added 25, and Mohammad Nabi played a notable innings with 42 runs off 27 balls. India’s bowlers, Mukesh and Akshar Patel, each took two wickets, while Shiv Dubey secured one. Afghanistan set a target of 158 runs for India to chase in the allotted 20 overs.

In a thrilling match against Afghanistan, Team India faced initial setbacks with Rohit Sharma out without scoring. However, they made a strong comeback, thanks to notable contributions from Subhman Gill (23 runs), Tilak Verma (26 runs), and Jitesh Sharma (31 runs). Shivam Dubey played a brilliant innings, remaining unbeaten on 60 runs, while Rinku Singh contributed an unbeaten 16 runs in 9 balls.

Chasing a target of 159, India successfully achieved victory with 4 wickets in hand. Afghanistan’s Mujeeb ur Rahman took 2 wickets. This triumph gives India a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
