BCCI Central Contract 2024: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the list of players’ contracts for the year 2023-24 on Wednesday, February 28, including several new players, while showing the way out for many old players. Among the players who have been shown the way out, the top names are Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer.

However, current captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, along with many players, have secured their place in this list. And they are set to receive crores of rupees again to play for India. So let’s find out about each of those talented players one by one, who are in the BCCI Central Contract list.

BCCI has released the new contract list for the year 2023-24. The list includes entries of several young players while showing the way out for many experienced and senior players. It should be noted that the BCCI categorizes players included in the central contract list into a total of 4 grades, which include Grade A+, A, B, and C. The annual salary of players in each grade varies. Currently, Kohli and Rohit are included in the list of Grade A+ players.

List of Grade A+ players

The BCCI Central Contract for the year 2023-24 includes a total of 4 players in the Grade A+ list. This list comprises Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja. The annual salary for Grade A+ players is 7 crore rupees.

List of Grade A players

In the BCCI Central Contract, a total of 6 players have been included in the Grade A list. This list comprises R Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, and Hardik Pandya. The annual salary for Grade A players is 5 crore rupees. In the previous central contract, only 5 players were included in Grade A.

It should be noted that KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, and Mohammed Siraj were in Grade B in the contract list last year. But this time, all three have been promoted, and they have moved from Grade B to Grade A.

List of Grade B players

In the BCCI Central Contract, a total of 5 players have been included in the Grade B list. This list comprises Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Yashasvi Jaiswal. The annual salary for Grade B players is 3 crore rupees. In the previous central contract, 6 players were included in Grade B.

According to the previous central contract list, Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel have suffered losses. Because both were previously in Grade A but are now included in Grade B players. Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav has been promoted from Grade C and has reached Grade B.

On the other hand, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who made his debut in 2023, has also been directly included in Grade B. According to the previous BCCI central contract, only Suryakumar Yadav is a player who was previously in Grade B and is still in Grade B.

List of Grade C players

In the BCCI Central Contract, a total of 15 players have been included in the Grade C list. This list includes Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shardul Thakur, Shivam Dube, Ravi Bishnoi, KS Bharat, Prasidh Krishna, Jitesh Sharma, Washington Sundar, Mukesh Kumar, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, and Rajat Patidar. The annual salary for Grade C players is 1 crore rupees. In the previous central contract, only 11 players were included in Grade C.

These players including Ishan-Iyer are thrown out

It is known that the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has removed a total of 8 players from the previous central contract list. This includes Cheteshwar Pujara, Shreyas Iyer, Umesh Yadav, Shikhar Dhawan, Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, and Yuzvendra Chahal. Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer are being removed because both have not complied with the board’s orders.

Players will get central contracts after playing a few matches

The BCCI has also announced in a press release that any player who plays 3 Tests or 8 ODIs or 10 T20Is during this period will automatically be included in the Grade C list. In this regard, the fate of many young players is set to shine.

If Dhruv Jurel and Sarfaraz Khan play one match each in the current England Test series, both will automatically be included in the Grade C list of the central contract. This will provide further encouragement and support for the youth to play for India.
