Which bowler has dismissed both Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli on duck in international cricket?

Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli are two of the greatest batters that the world cricket has witnessed. Sachin dominated every bowling attack that he faced during his time, while Virat continues to do so. The recently concluded ODI World Cup last year was one of the examples of what Virat can do on a cricketing field.

Kohli scored 765 runs in 11 innings in the World Cup at an average of 95.62. He became the first batter to cross the 700-run mark in an edition of the World Cup. Kohli broke the record of most runs in an edition of the World Cup which was previously held by Sachin. Sachin had scored 673 runs in 11 innings during the 2003 edition of the World Cup.

Kohli equalled and surpassed Sachin’s record of most centuries in ODIs in the World Cup. Against England, David Willey dismissed Kohli for a duck and he equalled another record held by Sachin. Both the batters have been dismissed for a duck 34 times in international cricket.

The only bowler who has dismissed Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli on duck in international cricket

Dilhara Fernando is the only bowler who has dismissed both Sachin and Virat on ducks in international cricket. Fernando dismissed Sachin for a duck during the 2007 edition of the World Cup. The ball which was pitched outside off stump, took an inside edge and went on hit the leg stump. Fernando became only the second Sri Lankan bowler to dismiss Sachin for a duck at that time. It was Sachin’s second duck in a World Cup game. Also, it was only the second time Sachin was bowled on a duck in ODIs.

Virat was dismissed for a duck by Fernando in an ODI match played on August 16, 2010. This was the same match where Suraj Randiv bowled the controversial no ball to Virender Sehwag and denied him a century. Fernando bowled a fuller delivery outside off stump at the end of the 10th over and Virat went for an off drive. He edged the ball and the catch was taken by Kumar Sangakkara behind the stump. This was the second duck for Virat in his international career.
