The destructive legendary Indian opener, Virender Sehwag played for the Delhi-based franchise for most of his IPL career. He was an integral part of the side from the inception of the tournament till the sixth edition.
Ahead of the 7th season, Delhi Capitals decided not to retain him, and Sehwag, thus, moved to Kings XI Punjab. Virender Sehwag played 79 matches for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League- fifth most by any player.
4. David Warner- 82 matches

David Warner is unquestionably the most successful overseas batter in the Indian Premier League. He played a significant role in taking Sunrisers Hyderabad to great heights, however, it was at Delhi Capitals, where he began his IPL career.
Warner was snapped by the Delhi Capitals, then Delhi Daredevils, ahead of the 2009 season and played till the 2013 edition. He moved to SRH in 2014 but made his return to the Capitals in 2023. Warner is currently playing for Delhi in the ongoing 2024 season. So far, he has made 82 appearances for the Capitals in the Indian Premier League.

3. Shreyas Iyer – 87 matches
Shreyas Iyer made his IPL debut for Delhi Capitals in the 2015 edition and remained a vital cog for the team for as many as eight seasons. He showed his mettle with the bat in the very first season, smashing 439 runs at 33.76. Iyer was appointed the captain of the side midway through the 2018 season.
Sadly, the Indian batter wasn’t retained ahead of the 2022 Mega-Auction and it was KKR, who bought him and made him the skipper. Shreyas Iyer played 87 matches for Delhi Capitals, which is the third most by any player.

Veteran Indian leg-spinner, Amit Mishra was pivotal to Delhi’s victories in the Indian Premier League. He picked wickets for the side consistently and was their first-choice spinner for many years. Amit Mishra has made the second most number of appearances for the Delhi-based franchise in the Indian Premier League i.e., 99 matches.
1. Rishabh Pant: 100 matches
India’s wicket-keeper batter, Rishabh Pant holds the record for playing the most number of matches for Delhi Capitals in IPL. Pant didn’t play for the franchise last season because of a life-threatening car crash that he survived on 30th December 2022.
Despite that, he still has most appearances to his name for the franchise in the cash-rich league. In his IPL career, Rishabh Pant has played 100 matches for Delhi Capitals.
