IPL 2024 Season: The next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to begin from March, marking the 17th season of the IPL. The player auction for the IPL 2024 season took place on December 19, 2023. A total of 333 players were part of this auction, including 214 Indians, 119 foreign players, and two players from associate nations. Among these players, 116 were capped, and 215 were uncapped.

However, there were only 77 slots available for IPL 2024, with 30 slots reserved for foreign players. Each of these players had the opportunity to become part of any team. And many of them got very good bids and also got a chance to join a good team. After this auction, all IPL teams are now prepared for the upcoming season. So, let’s take a look at the strengths, weaknesses, and key players of all the teams.

IPL 2024 Team Analysis: Strengths, Weaknesses, and Key Players

Similar to the past 2 IPL seasons, this IPL season will also feature 10 teams, and all these teams had bid aggressively during the auction, adding several players to their squads. Now, relying on the abilities of these players, all the teams will make efforts to win the trophy. However, even after the auction, many teams have notable shortcomings, while others are exceptionally strong. So, let’s take a look at each team’s squad one by one and discuss their strengths and weaknesses.

Chennai Super Kings

Strengths – The greatest strength of the Chennai Super Kings lies in their batting, and it was this strength that made them champions in IPL 2023. In this IPL season as well, the team’s batting is quite formidable. Additionally, their team boasts world-class spinners and all-rounders who can change the course of any match at any moment. And apart from that Captain MS Dhoni has always been the team’s biggest strength.

Weaknesses – CSK’s biggest weakness lies in their fast bowling. Currently, the team lacks experienced international pacers in the team, who can tie batters’ hands in death overs.

Delhi Capitals

Strengths – The greatest strength of the Delhi Capitals lies in their batting unit. From the top order to the middle order, the Delhi team is filled with both young and experienced players. Additionally, the team’s bowling is also quite excellent, which is expected to be effective for them in this season.

Weaknesses – As we mentioned, Delhi’s batting is their significant strength. However, their biggest weakness is the absence of a good finisher in their team. In fact, the team’s captain, Rishabh Pant, could not be part of the team in the last season due to an injury, and without any player fulfilling the role of a finisher, the team struggled to secure victories. This aspect is likely to trouble Delhi significantly in this season as well.
