India and Pakistan are two cricket giants in the world. The whole world waits for these two teams to clash against each other at the big stage. Earlier, these two sides would take on each other very frequently.
However, due to political tensions and historical conflicts, the two teams only meet each other in ICC events and other multi-team tournaments. India have not visited Pakistan to play an international cricket match for over a decade now.
Pakistan last toured India for an international series back in 2006. Though, India travelled Pakistan to play Asia Cup in 2008 as well. India played their last match against Pakistan in the 10th match of the Asia Cup 2008 at National Stadium in Karachi.

Openers: Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag
Gautam Gambhir scored 35 runs in 32 balls in that game against Pakistan. He was also part of India’s 2011 World Cup winning campiagn and announced his retirement from all forms of cricket in 2018.
Gambhir is often seen doing commentary during big ICC events and cricket series involving India. His opening partner, Virender Sehwag is also seen in giving expert analysis on Cricbuzz live.
Middle-order: Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma and Yusuf Pathan
India had a destructive middle-order at that time, which had the likes of Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma. Raina was, recently, seen participating in Legends League Cricket, while MS Dhoni is all set to make his comeback in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.
India’s opening star batter, Rohit Sharma is currently leading the Indian Cricket Team across formats. He, recently, took India to the final of the 2023 World Cup but, unfortunately, lost the summit clash against Pakistan.
Yusuf Pathan is a regular member for Bhilwara Kings in the Legends League Cricket. He made his presence felt in the recent season as well. Yuvraj Singh, though, didn’t play this season and seemed rather happy playing Golf, these days.
Bowlers: Irfan Pathan, Praveen Kumar, Piyush Chawla, Ishant Sharma
Irfan Pathan is one of the prominent members of Star Sports Commentary panel. He was, recently, seen doing commentary during India’s tour of South Africa. Indian spinner, Piyush Chawla was also part of the commentary team and is still plying his trade in IPL. He will play for Mumbai Indians in the upcoming IPL edition. Indian fast bowler, Ishant Sharma is no longer in India’s scheme of things but is still a part Delhi Capitals’ team in the Indian Premier League. The fans would be hoping that he get more chances to play in the upcoming IPL season.
