Indian fielders with most catches in Men’s T20 cricket: There is no denying the fact that fielding in cricket is as crucial as the other two aspects such as batting and bowling. A good catch can turn the game around completely. Likewise, a dropped catch can have massive repercussions on the result of the game. 

Over the years, the standard of fielding in Indian cricket has vastly improved. We have seen several outstanding fielders showcasing their fielding skills through superb catches and acrobatic boundary saves on the cricket field. 

In the modern game of T20 cricket, fielding holds great importance as one dropped catch or one good catch can massively impact the result of the game. 

In this article, we have listed five(5) Indian fielders with the most catches in T20 cricket: 

#5 Suryakumar Yadav – 136 

At number five is India’s current T20 batting sensation i.e., Suryakumar Yadav. Owing to his ability to play shots all around the ground, Suryakumar Yadav has taken the world by storm in a short period. He is currently the number one T20 batter in the world.

Apart from his batting exploits, Surykumar is also one of the better fielders in the Indian team. In his T20 cricket career thus far, he has managed to pick 136 catches- fifth most by an Indian fielder.  

#4 Manish Pandey – 146 catches

Not a lot of people would argue the fact that Manish Pandey is one of the best fielders India has ever produced in their cricketing history. The Kolkata batter has often showcased his fielding abilities on the cricket ground through some sensational catches and acrobatic saves. He is currently listed at the fourth spot in the list of most number of catches picked by Indian fielders in T20 cricket. Mandey has managed to claim 146 catches in the shortest format. 

#3 Rohit Sharma 

The Indian captain, Rohit Sharma is often trolled for his belly fat while drawing comparisons with players like Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, etc. However, despite carrying a few extra killos, Rohit possesses great fielding ability on the cricket ground. 

Rohit Sharma has picked up some outstanding catches, especially in T20 cricket, and overall has 167 catches to his name. 

#2 Suresh Raina

The legendary fielder, Jonty Rhodes, once said that Suresh Raina is the best fielder India has ever produced and we couldn’t agree less. Through his attacking brand of batting as well as fielding, he would leave everyone in awe. 

His ability to go after the ball and chase it like a leopard made him a master at his craft. During his playing days, the fans saw some unbelievable catches from the southpaw. He has, in fact, the second number of catches as an Indian fielder in T20 cricket- 172. 

#1 Virat Kohli- 174 catches  

The greatest batsman of the current generation, Virat Kohli tops the list with the most number of catches as an Indian fielder. Virat Kohli has played a major role in improving the standards of fielding in Indian cricket. 

During his stint as the Indian captain, Virat Kohli stressed on the need to improve the fitness standards. Virat Kohli holds the distinction of being a great fielder and has the most number of catches to his name as an Indian cricketer in T20 cricket. He has picked a record 174 catches in the shortest format.
