Less than 24 hours are left for the much-awaited IPL 2024 auction to begin at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. As many as 333 players will be going under the hammer, which comprises 214 Indians and 119 foreigners.
Fans would be keen to see where the big names, bracketed under 2 crores and 1.5 crore base price categories, find their new destination and at what price. Teams have a total of 77 slots to fill, of which 30 are overseas.
Thus, apart from the big names, the franchises will also be eyeing some uncapped players, who are in great form and can add great value to their set-up. On that note, here’s a look at 3 uncapped players who can fetch a good amount at IPL Auction 2024:
3. Shahrukh Khan
Punjab Kings’ decision to release Shahrukh Khan ahead of the IPL Auction 2024 raised a lot of eyebrows. There aren’t a lot of Indian players who can consistently finish games while batting down the order.
He has finished a lot of games in IPL and, perhaps, Punjab made a wrong move in releasing him. Shahrukh Khan might be under the uncapped player category but is likely to be in a lot of demand at the auction.
There could well be a bidding war for him between franchises at the auction.
2. Vivrant Sharma
SRH roped in the spin bowling all-rounder Vivrant Sharma for a big amount of 2.6 crores in the IPL 2023 auction. However, the franchise decided to release him as they wanted a bigger purse going into the auction.
The southpaw needed only 1 game to show his batting prowess in IPL. He was given the chance to open the innings in SRH’s last league game against MI.
Sharma played a stellar knock of 69 runs in just 47 deliveries, which included 9 fours and 2 sixes. He should be in demand in the auction and there could be a possibility of SRH trying hard to buy him back.
1. Urvil Patel
Gujarat Titans signed Urvil Patel for just 20 lakhs in the IPL 2023 auction. However, they didn’t retain him for the upcoming season. Just a day after the announcement of the released list of players, Urvil Patel smashed the second fastest List-A century by an Indian batter.
Turning up for his state team Gujarat, Urvil Patel smacked a century in just 41 deliveries. His knock helped the team chase down a 160-run target in just 13 overs. A hard-hitting batter, Urvil Patel could fetch a good amount of money at the IPL 2024 auction.
