Zeeshan Shines with the Ball
Zeeshan made an impact with the ball on his debut. He picked up his first IPL wicket in his second over, dismissing DC opener Faf du Plessis. The former South African captain had already scored a fifty and helped his team reach 81/0 in nine overs.
Later in the same over, Zeeshan grabbed a sharp caught-and-bowled chance to send Jake Fraser-McGurk back to the pavilion. He continued his fine spell by dismissing KL Rahul in his third over. Rahul tried to sweep but missed the ball, which knocked over his stumps.
- First IPL wicket: Faf du Plessis (50).
- Sharp caught-and-bowled: Jake Fraser-McGurk.
- Bowled KL Rahul with a sweep misjudgment.
- Game-changing spell, shifted momentum.
Zeeshan’s Domestic Journey
Zeeshan was part of India’s Under-19 team alongside Rishabh Pant. However, he has played very little T20 cricket.
He featured in just one game for Uttar Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy but failed to take a wicket. He gave away 32 runs in his four overs. In First-Class cricket, Zeeshan has played five matches and taken 17 wickets.
Despite limited T20 experience, Zeeshan impressed in the Uttar Pradesh T20 League. Playing for Meerut Mavericks, he finished as the highest wicket-taker. He picked up 24 wickets in 12 innings, including a five-wicket haul.
Zeeshan’s strong performance in domestic cricket earned him a place in the IPL. His impressive debut for SRH shows he has the potential to shine at the highest level.
