Yuvraj Singh to Captain India in World Championship of Legends 2025

Yuvraj Singh to Captain India in World Championship of Legends 2025: Yuvraj Singh has announced that he will be the captain of India Champions for the second season of the World Championship of Legends (WCL). The event will be held in July in the United Kingdom, according to a WCL press release.

Yuvraj guided India to success in the inaugural edition of the tournament. He will look to do so again this season. This time, he will be accompanied by Shikhar Dhawan, who will make his tournament debut after announcing his retirement from international cricket last year.

Yuvraj Singh Statment to World Championship of Legends (WCL)

Discussing playing the leadership role once again, Yuvraj Singh shared his enthusiasm. “I eagerly anticipate playing for India once again. The nostalgia about our championship triumph in the initial edition always has a special place in our memories,” he said.

A Tournament for Cricket Legends

The World Championship of Legends gained popularity among the fans. It provided them with an opportunity to see their favorite players return to action.

Harshit Tomar, WCL Founder, spoke about his vision for the tournament. “This tournament provides a future to veteran cricketers. Witnessing them recreate their magic is satisfying,” he said.

Nishant Pitti, Chief Patron and Chairman of WCL, also commented on the success of the league. “WCL is not a tournament. It is a celebration of the sport’s most iconic players. It brings back old rivalries and presents a nostalgic but competitive experience,” he further added.

India Champions Aiming for Another Title

India Champions team is owned by Jaspal Bahra, Salman Ahmed, and Sumant Bahl. The team will be back at Edgbaston to play against South Africa, Pakistan, England, West Indies, and Australia.

Sumant Bahl, co-owner of India Champions, remembered their inaugural season victory. “Winning the championship by beating Pakistan was a dream come true. We can’t wait for Season 2 and are keen to win once again with an improved team,” he stated. 

With cricket legends about to clash yet again, fans can look forward to another electrifying season of the World Championship of Legends.
