Ashutosh Sharma’s Blazing 66 Helps Delhi Capitals: Ashutosh Sharma played a brilliant knock of 66* off just 31 balls to help Delhi Capitals (DC) secure a thrilling one-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 4 of IPL 2025 on Monday, March 24.
After the match, Ashutosh credited IPL debutant Vipraj Nigam for his fearless batting. He also dedicated his Player of the Match award to his “mentor,” Shikhar Dhawan.

“Took lessons from last year. Missed out on finishing games before. Focused and visualized all year. Had the belief that if I play till the last over, anything can happen,” Ashutosh said after the match.
He also praised Vipraj for his confident batting under pressure. “Well played to Vipraj. I asked him to keep hitting. He was very calm under pressure. I dedicate this award to my mentor, Shikhar paaji,” he added.
Ashutosh’s Special Bond with Shikhar Dhawan
Ashutosh and Dhawan played together at Punjab Kings in IPL 2024. Dhawan backed Ashutosh to get opportunities at PBKS. His finishing skills later caught the attention of DC, who bought him for ₹3.8 crore in the Jeddah mega auction.

A Rare One-Wicket Win in IPL
DC’s one-wicket victory was only the fifth such win in IPL history in a non-rain-affected game. Axar Patel made a winning start as DC captain in IPL 2025.
DC will now face Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday, March 30. This will be their first afternoon game of the season.
Vipraj Nigam Shines on Debut
The 20-year-old spin-bowling all-rounder, Vipraj Nigam, impressed in his first IPL game. He played a quick-fire knock of 39 off 15 balls and shared a 55-run partnership with Ashutosh for the seventh wicket.
Earlier, he also took his maiden IPL wicket by dismissing LSG’s opener Aiden Markram. His all-round performance played a crucial role in DC’s win.
