UP Warriorz Women (UPW-W) faced Delhi Capitals (DC-W) in the sixth match of the Women’s Premier League 2025 on Wednesday, February 19, at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. The Capitals chased down the target of 167 runs in this game in 19.5 overs and won the match by seven wickets.
The Capitals have now won two out of three games so far and are in second place. The Warriorz have lost both their games so far and are in the last position.
Kiran Navgire led UP Warriorz Women’s batting
Kiran Navgire and Vrinda Dinesh opened the innings for the Warriorz and added 66 runs for the first wicket. Vrinda was dismissed in the sixth over after scoring 16 runs off 15 deliveries. The Warriorz scored 66 runs in the Power Play.
The team lost three more wickets for just 16 runs, and the innings slowed down after that. Shweta Sehrawat and Chinelle Henry handled the sinking ship and helped the Warriorz post a decent total. Sehrawat scored 37 runs off 33 deliveries, while Henry remained unbeaten on 33 runs off 15 deliveries.
The Warriorz posted a total of 166 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Annabel Sutherland was the pick of the bowlers for the Capitals and took two wickets for 26 runs in four overs.

Skipper Meg Lanning led Delhi Capitals from the front
Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning added 65 runs for the first wicket in 6.5 overs. The duo added 59 runs in the Power Play. Shafali made 26 runs off 16 deliveries, while Lanning scored 69 runs off 49 deliveries. Jemimah Rodrigues was dismissed for a duck.
Annabel Sutherland and Marizanne Kapp had an unbeaten partnership of 48 runs for the fourth wicket. The Capitals required 11 runs to win the game in the last over. Kapp took a single on the first delivery and gave the strike to Sutherland.
Sutherland hit two consecutive boundaries, and the equation came down to two runs off three deliveries. The Capitals took 19.5 overs to reach the target of 167 runs.
