#6 – 0/66 (4) – Kwena Maphaka (MI) vs SRH in Hyderabad, 2024

The eighth match of the IPL 2024 was a crazy one. It was a run-fest between the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Mumbai Indians at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. A total of 523 runs were scored in the match, the most in T20s.

SRH batted first and posted a mammoth 277 on the board. Kwena Maphaka of MI was making his IPL debut and he went on a journey. He went wicketless and conceded 66 runs in his four overs. It was a forgettable night for the 17-year-old pacer from South Africa.

#5 – 1/66 (3.5) – Arshdeep Singh (PBKS) vs MI in Mohali, 2023

In the 46th match of IPL 2023, Punjab Kings were asked to bat first by the Mumbai Indians and they finished their innings on 214/3. In a daunting task of chasing it, the MI batters meant business and came out all guns blazing.

The PBKS bowlers were on the receiving end. Arshdeep Singh shared the new ball along with Rishi Dhawan and dismissed dangerous Ishan Kishan but conceded 66 runs in his 3.5 overs. None of their bowlers succeeded in keeping a check on the scoring rate as MI chased down the total in the 19th over with six wickets in hand.

#4 – 0/66 (4) Mujeeb Ur Rahman (PBKS) vs SRH in Hyderabad, 2019

Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad offers a beautiful track to bat on and the bowlers are destined to get the hammering while playing here. Such was the case in 2019 when the Sunrisers Hyderabad hosted the Punjab Kings.

SRH posted a mammoth 212 on the board and the Punjab bowlers had a hard time. Mujeeb Ur Rahman was absolutely smashed all around the park. He conceded at an economy rate of 16.5 and finished with figures of 0/66 in his four overs. The mystery spinner had a disappointing time with the ball in hand.

#3 – 0/66 (4) Ishant Sharma (SRH) vs CSK in Hyderabad, 2013

The 54th match of IPL 2013 is often remembered for Suresh Raina’s heroics with the bat. Representing Chennai Super Kings, he smashed the Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers all around Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium and remained unbeaten on 99 off just 55 balls to take his side to 223/3.

SRH’s Ishant Sharma had a forgettable evening with the ball in hand. Sharing the new ball with Dale Steyn, Sharma conceded 66 runs in his four overs and failed to pick up a single wicket. He failed to hit the right areas consistently that night and offered too many freebies for the CSK batters which they pounced on.

Rinku Singh pulled off a miracle when he smacked five consecutive sixes off the last over to win the game for the Kolkata Knight Riders against the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023. Yash Dayal was on the receiving end of it in the 13th match of the competition.

The left-arm pacer conceded 31 runs in the final over of the innings and failed to defend 29. As a result, his figures at the end of the game read 0/69 in his four overs. These are the second most expensive figures in the history of the competition and Dayal will never ever forget this.

#1 – 0/70 (4) Basil Thampi (SRH) vs RCB in Bengaluru, 2018

You ask the batters in India their favorite ground to bat on and M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru will be among the top three in their list. The pitch at this venue is a batting paradise and short boundaries help the batters’ cause.

In the 51st match of IPL 2018, the Royal Challengers Bangalore hosted the Sunrisers Hyderabad and it was a high-scoring affair. RCB posted 218 on the board and SRH pacer Basil Thampi took a beating. He went wicketless that night and conceded 70 runs in his four overs. These remain the most expensive bowling figures in the history of IPL.
