The Hundred 2025 is set to begin on August 5, and all eight teams have now announced their retained players ahead of the draft. Each team was allowed to retain up to 10 players from their 2024 squad, including one centrally contracted England player and up to three overseas players.
In addition to retentions, teams could also make one direct overseas signing who did not play for them in the previous season. The rest of the squad will be completed through the main draft or the Vitality Wildcard draft.
Rashid Khan Joins Oval Invincibles
One of the biggest moves ahead of The Hundred 2025 is Afghanistan’s star all-rounder Rashid Khan joining Oval Invincibles as part of their retained squad. The defending champions made this key overseas signing to strengthen their team.
Southern Brave, on the other hand, has retained South African veteran Faf du Plessis, who brings experience and firepower to their batting lineup.
