In the year 2023, the ICC organized two major tournaments like the World Test Championship and the One Day World Cup. Now, once again, the International Cricket Council has made preparations for another significant tournament. This tournament is not like any other; it’s the T20 World Cup 2024, which is scheduled to be held in the USA and the West Indies. The schedule for this event has been released. Announcement of the T20 World Cup 2024 Schedule
Recently, the ICC organized the One Day World Cup hosted by India, and now the T20 World Cup is set to be hosted by the USA and the West Indies. Fans are eagerly awaiting this upcoming T20 World Cup, and their excitement is evident. A total of 20 teams will participate in this World Cup, and all teams were announced well in advance, with the ICC also releasing the schedule.
List of Teams Participating in the T20 World Cup 2024
India, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, USA, England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland, Oman, New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda, Papua New Guinea, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the Netherlands and Nepal.
Many of these teams are participating in a T20 World Cup for the first time. Some teams are making their debut in any World Cup. For the upcoming T20 World Cup, all 20 teams have been divided into 4 groups, with the top 2 teams from each group progressing further.
Group A: India, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, and USA
Group B: England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland, and Oman
Group C: New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda, and Papua New Guinea
Group D: South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands, and Nepal

The Opening Match of the T20 World Cup 2024
The T20 World Cup 2024 is set to begin on 1st June. The opening match will feature the United States (USA) against Canada, scheduled to be held in Dallas. Meanwhile, the final match of this World Cup is set to take place on 29th June in Barbados. During this period, a total of 55 matches will be played. Among all these matches, the most anticipated match is scheduled for 9th January at a venue in New York, where cricket’s two biggest rival teams, India and Pakistan, will face each other. However, before facing Pakistan, Team India will start their World Cup campaign against Ireland on 5th June.
From 1st June to 18th June, group stage matches of the T20 World Cup 2024 will be played. Following that, the Super 8 matches will be held from 19th to 24th June. The first semi-final match will be played in Guyana on 26th June, while the second semi-final will take place at the Trinidad Stadium on 27th June. It’s noteworthy that the final match of the T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled for 29th June in Barbados.
