SRH didn’t have a great start as two of their top three batters were dismissed even before the third over was bowled. Shardul Thakur took the wickets of Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan. Travis Head and the middle-order did the repair work but Head dismissed three runs before he could reach the milestone of a half-century.
Aniket Verma came as a surprise package and scored 36 runs off just 13 deliveries. SRH finished with 190 runs for the loss of nine wickets, which was a below-par score by their standard.
Shardul was the pick of the bowlers and took four wickets for 34 runs in four overs for LSG. The other four bowlers took one wicket each.
Second Innings: Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh helped LSG win their first game of the season
Aiden Markram was dismissed in the second over of LSG’s innings. Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran played a reverse move against SRH and displayed a dominant batting performance. The duo batted for 7.1 overs and added 116 runs for the second wicket. Pooran was particularly looked in the best of his shape and scored 70 runs off 26 deliveries. Marsh made 52 runs off 31 deliveries.
David Miller (13 runs off seven deliveries) and Abdul Samad (22 runs off eight deliveries) remained unbeaten and finished the game for LSG. LSG recorded their fourth win over SRH in five games.
