South Africa made a spectacular start to the 2025 Champions Trophy by defeating Afganistan by 107 runs in their first match.
The third match of the 2025 champion trophy was played today between south Africa and Afganistan at the National Stadiam in karachi . South Africa won the toss and choose to bat first.South Africa scored 315 runs for the loss of 6 wicket while batting first
South Africa had a poor start as they lost their first wicket early ,with Tony de Zorzi getting out After scoring 11 runs . However a strong partnership of 124 runs for the second wicket between Rassie van der Dussen and Temba Bavuma steatdied the innings. Temba Bavuma played a fine knock of 58 runs, while Ryan Rickelton scored a brilliant 103 off 106 balls to anchor the innings.

Apart from them , Rassie van der Dussen and Aiden Markram contributed with 52 runs each, while Wiaan Mulder remained unbeaten on 12 runs off 6 balls. David Miller added 14 runs to be the total.
For Afganistan, Mohammad Nabi, took 2 Wickets, while Fazalhaq Farooqi , Azmatullah and Noor Ahmed picked up one wicket each.
When Afganistan came out tk chase the target of 316 runs, they had a poor start losing 4 wicket for just 50 runs . Rahmanullah Gurbaz managed to score only 10 runs, while Ibrahim Zardan contributed 17 runs Sediqullah Atal scored 16 runs. and Hashmatullah Shahidi was dismissed for a duck . Azmatullah Omarzai also added 16 runs.
The highest scorer for Afganistan was Rahmat shah, who Played a fighting knock of 90 runs.but he couldnt take his team to victory. Afganistan was bowled out for 210 runs in 43.3 over and South Africa won the match by 107 runs.
Kagiso Rabada took the most wicket for africa with 3 wicket ,while Wiaan Mulder also took 2wicket
