Quinton de Kock Smashes RR Bowlers | KKR First IPL 2025 Win – Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bagged their inaugural win of IPL 2025 by beating Rajasthan Royals (RR). Quinton de Kock scored a match-winning 97* off 61 balls. His outstanding knock guided KKR to chase 152 with ease.
KKR Spinners Overpower Rajasthan Royals
Batting first, RR had a tough time against KKR’s bowling with spin. They could only score 151 runs in 20 overs. Varun Chakravarthy and Moeen Ali bowled beautifully. They kept RR’s batters under control and didn’t allow them to settle. Sanju Samson scored a solid knock, but wickets fell at regular intervals.

KKR’s Chase Begins Slowly
Chasing 152, KKR had a wobbly beginning. Moeen Ali and Ajinkya Rahane struggled to score easily. When the KKR skipper got dismissed, they required 82 runs in 51 balls.
Quinton de Kock later gained control over the pursuit. Young batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi also played well in support. The duo established a good partnership to take KKR near the target.
De Kock’s great Finish
As de Kock prepared himself, he attacked RR’s bowlers. He attacked Wanindu Hasaranga and troubled the bowling unit. This pressurized RR to commit errors, and de Kock exploited them to the fullest. He struck boundaries without any difficulty and maintained the required run rate under check.
KKR required 17 runs in the last three overs. De Kock ended the match in style. He hammered a four over square leg and then a massive six. He finished the chase by hitting the ball over long-on for a six.

KKR chased the total in 17.3 overs, winning easily. Quinton de Kock’s remarkable innings earned him the Player of the Match award. His serene attitude and aggressive shots proved to be the difference. With this win, KKR got their account opened in IPL 2025.
