New Zealand had scored 264 for 8 in 42 overs after being sent in to bat. In reply, Pakistan were bowled out for 221.
Fast bowler Ben Sears was the star for New Zealand. He took 5 wickets for 34 runs. It was his second five-wicket haul in a row.
Imam-ul-Haq rushed to hospital after being hit on the head in 3rd ODI
Pakistan started well despite an early shock. Opener Imam-ul-Haq was hit on the head in the third over. A throw at the stumps struck him and got stuck in his helmet grill. Imam looked dizzy and had to leave the field.

Captain Babar Azam kept the chase alive. He scored a fine half-century. He got support from Abdullah Shafique (33) and Mohammad Rizwan (37).
At the halfway point, Pakistan were 95 for 1. With 10 overs left, they reached 167 for 4, almost matching New Zealand’s position of 165 for 4 at the same stage.
New Zealand beats Pakistan by 43 runs in 3rd ODI
Pakistan could not finish strong. While New Zealand made 99 runs in their final 10 overs, Pakistan struggled.
Tayyab Tahir scored 33 from 31 balls but was out in the 39th over. When he got out, Pakistan were 218 for 9, and the match was nearly over.
Pakistan had come to New Zealand with a new squad. They hoped to recover from their poor performance at the Champions Trophy. But things didn’t go as planned.
They lost the T20I series 4-1 and were already down 2-0 in the ODI series. Saturday’s defeat completed a 3-0 whitewash. The Pakistan batters found it tough to score on New Zealand’s fast and bouncy pitches.

“It was a disappointing series for us,” said Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan. “But Babar Azam’s form and Sufiyan Muqeem’s bowling are positives.”
He also praised New Zealand. “They played very well in all areas. They were the better team,” Rizwan added.
Earlier, Rhys Mariu scored 58 and Michael Bracewell hit 59 for New Zealand. Daryl Mitchell also passed 2,000 ODI runs.
