Mullanpur to Host Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 Final: The Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Punjab will host the final of the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. The tournament will take place from September 29 to October 26. 

Currently, the stadium is serving as the Indian Premier League franchise Punjab Kings’ home venue in IPL 2025. 

This will be the first time Mullanpur hosts a women’s international match. The other venues for the tournament are Indore, Raipur, Visakhapatnam, and Thiruvananthapuram.

New Venues for Women’s Cricket

Mullanpur, Raipur, and Thiruvananthapuram have never hosted a women’s international match before. However, Indore’s Nehru Stadium has hosted two Women’s World Cup games in the past. But, no international cricket has been played there since the Holkar Stadium was built.

Visakhapatnam’s ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium has hosted five women’s ODIs and six women’s T20Is.

India to Host Women’s ODI World Cup Again

India will be hosting the Women’s ODI World Cup for the fourth time. The last ICC women’s event hosted in India was the T20 World Cup in 2016. India Women exited in the group stage of that tournament.

This will be the first Women’s ODI World Cup after the retirements of Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami. Both were legends of Indian women’s cricket.

Tournament Format and Teams

The tournament will follow the same format as the 2022 edition. A total of eight teams will play 31 matches. The teams that have already qualified:

Qualified Teams
🇮🇳 India (Hosts)
🇦🇺 Australia
🇳🇿 New Zealand
🇿🇦 South Africa
🇱🇰 Sri Lanka
🏴 England

The remaining two teams will qualify through the Women’s World Cup Qualifier. The qualifier will be held in Lahore, Pakistan.

If Pakistan qualifies, a hybrid model will be used. Pakistan’s matches will be played in Sri Lanka or the UAE.

This tournament will be an exciting event for women’s cricket in India.
