IPL 2025 All Teams Bowling Analysis – pace & spin, Strength and weakness in Powerplay: All IPL teams have good spin and pace bowlers but there some strength and weakness. so we are compare all in this article. Ipl is about to start tomorrow and the league is surely going to be an all timer. With some new rules like the unban on use of saliva on ball and use of two new balls in the 2nd Innings this is going to be an exciting tournament.
The auction already took place last year and each team have brought every player in their squad , so let’s try and look at strength and weaknesses of each team in their pace and spin bowling:
1.Chennai Super Kings
Chennai super Kings had a good auction as they pick good players especially good spinners for their pitches in chepauk as they help spinners a lot, with the likes of ravindra jadeja, rachin ravindra it was already a tough spin bowling department now they have bought ashwin, noor ahmed who are spinners that can be lethal on the wickets of chepauk and also good spinning allrounder like deepak hooda,shreyas gopal.

Chennai Super Kings had a strong auction, focusing on spin-friendly Chepauk conditions.Spin Attack Strengthened:
- Retained Ravindra Jadeja & Rachin Ravindra.
- Added Ravichandran Ashwin & Noor Ahmed for lethal spin options.
- Picked Deepak Hooda & Shreyas Gopal as spinning all-rounders.
Pace Bowling Unit:
- Retained Matheesha Pathirana, Sam Curran, & Khaleel Ahmed.
- Acquired part-time pacers Vijay Shankar & Jamie Overton for variation.
Well-balanced bowling attack suitable for Chepauk’s pitch conditions.
2. Delhi Capitals
The spin department of Delhi capitals is one of the best as it contain two Indian team premium spinner axar patel and the magician kuldeep yadav they have decent part time Tristan stubbs and a decent spinner abhishek porel but the problem is they are going to play more on wickets where there is less spin.
Now come to the pacer last time this was the department that was lackluster with only mukesh kumar who was some decent performer throughout this time they have bought one of the best pace bowler in the world with the name of Mitchell starc, he was one of the key performers of kkr who won the last season in the knockout games and if you add t natrajan and mohit sharma in the team this bowling lineup is decent. The only problem is they don’t have a good repetitive name beside Mitchell starc.
3. Gujarat Titans
Gujrat titans probably have one of the most star studded bowling lineups in the 2025 season. Just look at the names Kagiso Rabada, Mohammad siraj, Gerald Coetzee who can destroy the opponents with their pace bowling.
and even if you survive them then comes the world’s best spinner rashid khan also add gleen Phillips , Washington sundar this is going to be a great bowling lineup and they can cause havoc throughout the tournament.The only problem is there is no out and out spinner except rashid khan.
4. Kolkata Knight Riders
The defending champion have a great spin duo of Sunil Narine and Varun chakravarti , one stops the run the other takes wicket which was a great thing for the kkr franchise in the last season also, they have also added moeen ali in the mix which is a great addition.

But here the problem arrives there is harshit rana, Spencer Johnson and vaibhav arora with andre russel in the mix, when you look at the pace bowling lineup sure they are good bowlers but there is no international level bowler like they had in the last season in the name of Mitchell starc. This is a very big pothole in kkr quest to defend their title.
5.Lucknow Super Giants
Lsg is quite an interesting case as they have good bowling lineup but the problem is injuries. In spin they have Ravi Bishnoi and that’s it no premium spinner except bishnoi and they are playing in slowish Lucknow pitch,
in pace department they have mayank yadav, mohsin khan, shamar Joseph, now you might think this looks good but mayank yadav and mohsin khan haven’t got their clearance yet. Let’s see how they will perform.
6. Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indian’s bowling was one of the key reason of their bad play in last season. Now this season they have brought some good t20 bowlers like trent boult, deepak chahar in their pace department which is a superb edition that makes them dangerous that too with jasprit bumrah though bumrah will not be there for some matches but you get the point add someone like reece topley into the mix also hardik pandya, that looks a great pace bowling lineup but the problem is their spin department they have Mitchell santner which is great but that’s it they don’t have any Indian great spinner yes they have mujeeb and karn sharma but can you trust them on small wankhede wickets. but new debut player is good with spin bowl – Vignesh Puthur.
7. Punjab kings
Punjab kkings without a doubt has the best bowling lineup in the whole tournament, just go through the names in pace department:- arshdeep singh, marco jansen, lockie ferguson are there who on their day can destroy batting lineup also add marcus stoinis. Spin department is too be honest the same as pace bowling department they have Yuzvendra Chahal, harpreet brar and glenn maxwell. If you want to nitpick a bad thing then it might be a loss of a good foreign spinner but without a doubt the best bowling lineup of the tournament.
7. Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals have a good spin department with the names of two srilankan Mahesh Theekshana, Wanindu Hasaranga the pace department also is very good as they have sandeep sharma , fazalhaq farooqi, jofra archer , Akash Madhwal, Tushar Deshpande this looks like a great and an underrated bowling lineup so far.
8. Royal Challengere Bangaluru
Finally let’s look at rcb, they also have a very underrated team on the paper as this might not look dangerous but they have surely bought players according to their role firstly let’s talk about pace, they have Josh Hazelwood, Bhubaneswar Kumar, Yash dayal, Nuwan Tushara which is great and also add the new sensation rashik salam into the mix. They look like a good pace bowling lineup.
Now the spin they have suyash sharma as the only legit spinner but they have really good allrounder like krunal pandya, Tim david, jacob bethell, liam Livingston who can give you both spin and power in your batting. At the end this might not look very good bowling team on paper but can seriously do damage on the field.
