New schedule of T20 World Cup 2024 revealed
Actually, the schedule for the T20 World Cup 2024 was announced at the beginning of January, according to which the tournament is set to commence on June 1. The new schedule also confirms that the tournament will indeed kick off on June 1. In the opening match of this tournament, the United States Of America (USA) team will face Canada, which will be played in Dallas.
Meanwhile, all matches involving Team India will also be played at their originally scheduled times. In the upcoming World Cup, the Indian team will play their first match against Ireland on June 5. It is worth mentioning that the ICC has announced a new schedule, and according to it, only the timing of the semifinal matches has been changed.

Major change made in the date of semi-final matches
It should be noted that the ICC has announced a new schedule for the T20 World Cup 2024, but it is not for all matches, only for the semifinal matches. According to the ICC’s new schedule, the evening semifinal in Trinidad and Tobago will now be played on June 26, with a reserve day set for June 27. Initially, this match was scheduled to be played on June 27.
Meanwhile, the morning semifinal in Guyana will be played on June 27, and its reserve day is set for June 28. Originally, according to the previous schedule, this match was supposed to take place on June 26. However, no changes have been made to the date of the final, and it will be played in Barbados on June 29, as per the original schedule.
A total of 20 teams will participate in the upcoming T20 World Cup
For the first time in cricket history, a total of 20 teams are going to participate in the T20 World Cup. Several teams among them are participating for the first time in any T20 World Cup, while there are also some teams with prior appearances in this global tournament.
United States Of America (USA), West Indies, India, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland, Oman, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Uganda, Papua New Guinea, Bangladesh, the Netherlands and Nepal.
For the upcoming T20 World Cup, all these teams have been divided into 4 groups, with each group consisting of 5 teams.
India, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, and USA – Group A
England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland, and Oman – Group B
New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda, and Papua New Guinea – Group C
