Suryakumar Yadav desires to make his ODI and Test comeback

India’s T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav has expressed his desire to represent India in all three formats of the game. Suryakumar Yadav, recently, led India in the T20I series against Sri Lanka, which they won by a 3-0 margin.

However, he wasn’t part of the ODI series, which followed, after that. The chief selector, Ajit Agarkar had, earlier, clarified that Yadav wasn’t in their ODI plans.

As per reports, Suryakumar Yadav is likely to play for Mumbai in the upcoming Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament.

Recently, the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) announced that the All India Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament will be played from August 15 to September 11. Suryakumar Yadav, who wasn’t part of Mumbai’s squad, earlier, has now expressed his interest.

However, he has requested the board to keep Sarfaraz Khan as the captain of the side. The Mumbai Indians batsman will be available from the second leg of the tournament.

Participation in the upcoming Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament will help Suryakumar Yadav practice for the upcoming first-class season.

“I want to play for India in all three formats. Playing in Buchi Babu will give me good practice for the red-ball tournaments this season,” Suryakumar Yadav said to Times of India.

It is worth mentioning that Suryakumar Yadav has played only 1 Test for India so far. He made his Test debut against Australia in the 2023 Border-Gavaskar Series on 9th February. He made eight runs off 10 deliveries and was dropped from the next Test match.
