UP Warriorz have replaced Australian top-order batter Georgia Voll with Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu for the current Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 season.
Notably, Athapaththu had replaced England’s pace bowler Lauren Bell in UP Warriorz for WPL 2024. She was retained by the team before this season but has not featured in a single match yet. The captain of Sri Lanka will now also miss the rest of the tournament as she resumes her national duties.
Who is Georgia Vol? Batter who has replaced Chamari Athapaththu in UP Warriorz team for WPL 2025
Georgia Voll is a young and promising batter who plays for Australia in international cricket. The 21-year-old has appeared in three ODIs, making 173 runs at 86.50 and a strike rate of 108.80, with one century. She has also appeared in three T20Is for Australia.

Voll has been a steady performer in local cricket, particularly in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL). She has appeared in 70 WBBL games, making 1233 runs, with a top score of an unbeaten 97. The Australian cricketer will be a part of the UP Warriorz team for the rest of the WPL 2025 season for ₹30 lakh.
UP Warriorz’s performance in WPL 2025
UP Warriorz have had an inconsistent season till now in WPL 2025. They have played five games, winning two and losing three. They have four points and are currently placed fourth on the points table.

The team began their campaign with a six-wicket defeat to the Gujarat Giants, and another one against the Delhi Capitals by seven wickets. They came back strongly in their third game, beating Delhi by 33 runs to claim their first victory of the season.
UP Warriorz went on to establish momentum with a second exciting victory over defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru in a Super Over match. But their winning trend was brief as they lost by eight wickets in their previous game against the Mumbai Indians.
UP Warriorz will next play against Gujarat Giants on March 3, Monday. The same game will also signal the commencement of the Lucknow leg of WPL 2025.
