The recent match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women and UP Warriorz Women was arguably one of the most thrilling games of the season, featuring the first-ever Super Over in the history of WPL. Both teams put up a remarkable fight, but in the end, Sophie Ecclestone led UP Warriorz to victory with her all-round performance.
Despite the loss, RCB’s Ellyse Perry stole the spotlight with an outstanding unbeaten 90 off 56 balls, including nine fours and three sixes. Her innings was the second-highest individual score for an RCB player in WPL history. Perry’s brilliant knock almost took her team over the line, and even though it came in a losing cause, it remains one of the best innings of the tournament.
Notably, the 34-year-old Australian all-rounder has been battling a hip injury but continues to deliver crucial performances. She also made her return to bowling in this match, dismissing Shweta Sehrawat.
