Delhi Capitals Women (DC-W) faced Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W) in the final of the Women’s Premier League 2025 on Saturday, March 15, at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. DC-W won the toss and elected to bowl.

First Innings: Harmanpreet Kaur’s knock helped Mumbai Indians Women reach a fighting total
MI-W lost their first two wickets for just 14 runs and had a really slow start to their innings. The team could score only 20 runs in the power play. Nat Sciver-Brunt and Harmanpreet Kaur were in the middle and changed the course of the innings. The duo added 89 runs for the third wicket.
Sciver-Brunt scored 30 runs off 28 deliveries before getting dismissed in the 15th over. Jess Jonassen took the wickets of Amelia Kerr and Sajeevan Sajana in the 16th over. It slowed down the momentum gained by MI-W. Harmanpreet made 66 runs off 44 deliveries. MI-W finished with 149 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Marizanne Kapp, Jess Jonassen, and Nallapureddy Charani picked two wickets each.
Second Innings: Nat Sciver-Brunt’s bowling efforts helped Mumbai Indians Women win their second title
DC-W had a similar start to their innings and lost the first two wickets for just 17 runs. DC-W could make only 58 runs in the first 10 overs and lost four wickets. Jemimah Rodrigues played a fighting knock of 30 runs off 21 deliveries.
Marizanne Kapp made 40 runs off 26 deliveries and almost took the team home. Kapp and Niki Prasad scored 17 runs in the 16th over, and it looked like DC-W might walk on the other side. However, Sciver-Brunt dismissed Kapp for 40 runs off 26 deliveries in the 18th over. DC-W finished with 141 runs for the loss of nine wickets.

MI-W won the match by eight runs. It is their second trophy in three years, and they have become the most successful team in the tournament’s history. It was the third match of the season between DC-W and MI-W. DC-W had won the first two matches, but MI-W bounced back in this game and dominated right from the word go. It was MI-W’s second final appearance against DC-W, and the results have been the same on both occasions.
