The defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women (RCB-W) faced last season’s runner-up, Delhi Capitals Women (DC-W), in the fourth match of Women’s Premier League 2025 on Monday, February 17, at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.
RCB-W chased down the target of 142 runs in just 16.2 overs and won the match by eight wickets. It was the second win for RCB-W this season and they are in the first position in the points table. DC-W have now won and lost one game each and are in third place.

Jemimah Rodrigues emerged as the best batter for Delhi Capitals Women
RCB-W won the toss and elected to bowl. DC-W lost their first wicket on the second delivery of their innings as Shafali Verma got out for a golden duck. Jemimah Rodrigues joined Meg Lanning in the middle and the duo added 60 runs for the second wicket before Jemimah was dismissed for 34 runs off 22 deliveries.
It was the best performance with the bat for the Capitals as no other batter managed to go past the 25-run mark for the team. The Capitals did have a fine start to their innings as they managed 55 runs in the Power Play.
However, runs dried completely after that and the batters had to search for boundaries. In the next six overs, the batters could pile up just 40 runs and the Capitals lost four wickets while doing that. The team was bundled out for just 141 runs in 19.3 overs.
Renuka Singh Thakur led the show for the defending champions
Renuka Singh was the pick of the bowlers for RCB-W. She gave the first blow to the Capitals as she dismissed Shafali for a duck. In her four overs, Renuka gave away 23 runs and took three wickets. She had complete control over the ball and conceded just two fours.
Georgia Wareham also took a three-wicket haul and gave away 25 runs in four overs. She picked the pricey wicket of Rodrigues, which proved to be the turning point in the match. Kim Garth and Ekta Bisht finished with two wickets each.

Smriti Mandhana made it a one-sided affair with her bat
Skipper Smriti Mandhana and Danielle Wyatt-Hodge added 107 runs for the first wicket in 10.5 overs. They sealed the deal for the team and it was a mere formality after their brutal attack. Wyatt-Hodge scored 42 runs off 33 deliveries before getting dismissed.
Mandhana played a knock of 81 runs off 47 deliveries, her highest individual score in the WPL. Also, it was her third half-century in the tournament since the first edition. Shikha Pandey and Arundhati Reddy took one wicket each for the Capitals.
Best Batting Peformance in DC-W vs RCB-W, Match 5 of Women’s Premier League 2025
Smriti Mandhana was the best performer with the bat in this match. Her 81 runs off 47 deliveries is the highest score so far this season. It was her second half-century against the Capitals in WPL.
Jemimah Rodrigues was the most successful batter for the Capitals in this game. She provided a fiery start to the team and played a knock of 34 runs off just 22 deliveries. Jemimah hit four fours and two sixes during her innings.
Best Bowling Peformance in DC-W vs RCB-W, Match 5 of Women’s Premier League 2025
Renuka Singh delivered her best bowling performance in WPL in this match. She took three wickets for just 23 runs in four overs and conceded just two fours.
Georgia Wareham also bowled her heart out and took three wickets for 25 runs in four overs. It was her best bowling performance in WPL so far.
