The trio took six wickets together, giving away just 55 runs in 12 overs. CSK collapsed to 103 for 9 — their lowest IPL score at home. The black-soil pitch was slow and helped spinners. It felt like home for KKR, even though their actual home pitch at Eden Gardens hasn’t helped them this season. Ajinkya Rahane, captaining the side, brought Moeen Ali into the team. The move worked perfectly. Moeen removed Devon Conway early with a wicket maiden. Rachin Ravindra fell in the next over. CSK were struggling at 31 for 2 after the powerplay.
Middle Order Fails Again of CSK in IPL 2025
CSK’s weak middle order was exposed once again. Rahul Tripathi, playing instead of Ruturaj Gaikwad, couldn’t decide how to bat. He scored only 16 runs from 22 balls. Vijay Shankar got lucky with dropped catches but couldn’t make it count. Shivam Dube came in at 59 for 3 but soon saw the scoreboard read 75 for 8. CSK were close to their lowest IPL score ever.
Narine bowled four overs without giving a boundary — the 16th time he’s done that in the IPL. He took out Tripathi, Jadeja, and even Dhoni. There was some doubt about Dhoni’s dismissal, but he was given out lbw. CSK went 63 balls without hitting a boundary. They used Deepak Hooda as an Impact Player, but he got out for a duck. Matheesha Pathirana didn’t even play.
Easy Win for KKR against CSK
CSK’s bowlers had a small target to defend. They went hard for wickets but gave away runs instead. KKR scored 71 in the powerplay itself. The match ended quickly. It was a one-sided game, KKR completely outplayed CSK, winning in the 10.1 overs by 8 wickets.
