Manoj Tiwary Questions Dhoni’s Late Entry: “Only to Make the Crowd Happy?”
‘It’s only to make the crowd happy’ – Manoj Tiwary
During a discussion on Cricbuzz, Tiwary was puzzled by CSK’s batting order. He said:
“What is the point of coming in such an aggressive mood? If it’s only to make the crowd happy, then okay. But it’s beyond my understanding. If a batter like MS Dhoni can score 30 off 16 balls, why is he not batting earlier? Why not try to win the game?”
Tiwary further questioned the logic behind the decision.
“You are playing to win, so this does not make sense. If you guys understand it, please explain it to me. He had the best strike rate of 190. If he can do it, he should have batted earlier. At least give it a try. Hopefully, someone explains this decision because I have no answer.”
Dhoni walked in to bat in the 16th over when CSK was struggling at 99-7. He smashed Krunal Pandya for two sixes and a four in the last three balls of the match, giving fans something to cheer about.
