The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently held a meeting with all team captains on March 20. A key topic discussed was a small change in the Super Over rule.
As per Cricbuzz, Super Overs will continue until a winner is decided. However, they must be completed within one hour of starting.

BCCI’s Guidelines for Super Overs
The BCCI has shared clear instructions for handling tied matches.
- The initial Super Over has to commence within 10 minutes of the match being concluded.
- In case the first Super Over too is tied, the subsequent one has to begin within five minutes.
- Unlimited Super Overs can be conducted until a winner is declared within the time frame of one hour.

The BCCI has also revised the standard rules for Super Overs.
- Both teams receive one over consisting of six balls. The team that gets more runs is declared the winner.
- Two wickets lost by a team put an end to their Super Over.
- Super Over should commence 10 minutes after the game has ended, subject to weather.
- The same pitch shall be utilized unless the umpires consider it unplayable.
- If the match is interrupted or delayed, additional time shall be provided to finish the Super Over.
