BAN vs NZ: Bangladesh and New Zealand are currently locking horns for the 6th match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at the Rawalpindi Stadium in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
After being invited to bat at first in the game, Bangladesh posted a substandard total of 236 runs at the end of first innings, thanks to their attacking top order batsman and skipper Najmul Shanto’s knock. Shanto smashed 77 runs off 110 balls, including 9 boundaries.
Further, Jaker Ali scored 45 off 55 balls while Rishad Hossain added 26 off 25 to the team’s total. Earlier in the innings, the team’s opener Tanzid Hasan scored 24 off 24, as New Zealand’s Michael Bracewell picked a four wicket haul.

‘Today was my day’ – Michael Bracewell on his magical spell in BAN vs NZ in Champions Trophy 2025
Reflecting on the team’s performance in the spell, the Kiwi all-rounder Michael Bracewell backed his team to chase the low total as the New Zealand team eyes the qualification spot in Group A.
“It’s a funny one, once you let go of the ball, you don’t have much control. Today was my day. (On getting the ball to drift) Some lovely wind out there, nice to get some assistance from the wind, coming from Wellington, I bowl with a lot of wind. The athleticism is amazing in our group, that’s something we try as a team, to try and put our bodies on the deck and make sure the opportunities are taken. The breeze took that catch (Shanto’s) away from me. Hopefully it slides on a bit in the second innings. We saw in the powerplay that it was great to bat, hopefully we can get off to a good start and carry that through”, Michael Bracewell said.
