Why IPL 2025 suspended for one week?
On April 22, two terrorist from Pakistan attacked tourist who visited Pahalgam which is a city of Jammu and Kashmir to enjoy their Holiday’s, they killed all those innocent people over religion base. After the attack, they also threatened PM Narendra Modi, after the attack both country are now having beef with each other and have tried to attack each other on different occasions.

Last night, the match was going on between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals where between the match in the 100 km range, Pakistan send their drone to attack India though India with the help of their air defense, terminated all the drones, the match was also called off and all the players in Dharamshala were requested to leave the stadium. Since then, the IPL committee were told by many players especially foreign players, that they don’t feel safe and wants to go home also many cricket boards of different country have already told both India and Pakistan to send their players home. Pakistan have already shifted their tournament (PSL 2025) to UAE whereas India have taken the decision to suspend the IPL for one week.
What’s next?
Their are reports that all the foreign players have been sended home by immediate effect, even last night the bcci did great by switching off the lights in the match and evacuated all the people from the stadium stating them that there is light issue in the stadium which resulted in no crowd gather. All the players of both Punjab and delhi have been brought back from Dharamshala by special flight.

What we can expect next?
At this point there is no official statement as to how will the tournament is going to proceed?where will the matches being played? what the schedule should be?, we can expect all these decision in the following week as bcci have asked for one week for further clarification. Bcci has two windows that they can target to complete the end half of IPL 2025, they are:-
- Do more double headers and try to end it in MAY Or probably 1st week of June
- Try to do the delayed half of the tournament between India tour of Bangladesh and Asia Cup 2025.
