Will Jacks and Ryan Rickelton opened the innings for MI as Rohit Sharma was not a part of the playing 11. Hardik informed during the toss that Rohit was hit on his knee during the practice. The new opening pair couldn’t do much and MI lost the first two wickets for just 17 runs.
Naman Dhir and Suryakumar Yadav added 69 runs for the third wicket. Naman scored 46 runs off 24 deliveries before getting dismissed in the ninth over. Suryakumar scored 67 runs off 43 deliveries and was dismissed in the 17th over.
Tilak Varma made 25 runs off 23 deliveries before he retired hurt in the 19th over. MI scored 191 runs for the loss of five wickets and lost the match by 12 runs. Shardul Thakur, Akash Deep, Avesh Khan, and Digvesh Singh Rathi took one wicket each.
