First Innings: Spinners restrict RR to a below-par total

The Royals didn’t start well again in this game as Sanju Samson departed after scoring 13 runs off 11 deliveries. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag joined hands but the duo was dismissed in the 8th and 9th over, respectively. Hasaranga was promoted up the order but this move didn’t yield any significant result. 

Dhruv Jurel emerged as the highest scorer and made 33 runs off 28 deliveries. RR finished with 151 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. Vaibhav Arora, Harshit Rana, Moeen Ali, and Varun Chakaravarthy took two wickets each for KKR.

Second Innings: Quinton de Kock’s heroics made the game a one-sided affair

Mooen Ali and Quinton de Kock opened the innings for KKR in this game. Moeen was run out after scoring just five runs. Ajinkya Rahane scored 18 runs off 15 deliveries before getting departed in the 11th over. Angkrish Raghuvanshi came in as an impact player and finished the game with de Kock.

De Kock remained unbeaten on 97 runs off 61 deliveries, while Raghuvanshi made 22 runs off 17 deliveries. KKR chased down the target of 152 runs in 17.3 overs with eight wickets in hand.

KKR’s bowlers dominated the match from the very first over. The Royals promoted Hasarnag up the order to tackle the spinners. However, the move didin’t work in favor of the team.

KKR’s bowlers didn’t have a great outing in the first game but they managed to make a smooth comeback in this game. RR didn’t have a decent start with both bat and ball in both of their outings. Both teams will walk into their next matches with different plans.
