LSG Owner Sanjiv Goenka’s Dressing Room Speech Goes Viral After Intense Chat With Rishabh Pant – Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) endured a heartbreaking one-wicket loss to Delhi Capitals (DC) in their IPL 2025 opening game on Monday.
LSG were in command for the most part of the game after securing a healthy total of 210 and limiting DC to 65/5. But Impact player Ashutosh Sharma struck an unbeaten 66-run knock, taking DC to victory in the last over.
Post-match, LSG skipper Rishabh Pant was seen engaging in a stern conversation with head coach Justin Langer and team owner Sanjiv Goenka. This drew social media reactions, with fans bringing to mind the infamous chat between Goenka and KL Rahul during IPL 2024 that generated controversy.

LSG eventually posted a video of Goenka speaking to the team after the defeat. He appreciated their work and urged them to keep themselves positive.
“Lots of positives from this game in both batting and bowling,” said Goenka. “We played a good Powerplay in both innings. We are a young team. Let’s take the positives and move forward. Disappointing result, but great game.”
The match had a thrilling finish. In the last over, Pant missed an important stumping opportunity to get rid of Mohit Sharma. He then took a DRS review for an LBW, but the ball was short of the stumps.
Mohit and Ashutosh ran a single off the following ball. Ashutosh finished the game off with a massive six over the ground, converting an impossible chase.

Post-match, DC captain Axar Patel was joking about his side’s volatility.
“Be ready for this now,” Axar smiled. “With me as captain, things will fluctuate.”
Pant spoke after the loss and complimented his side’s batting effort.
“Our top-order performed well, and I feel that it was a good score on this pitch,” Pant said. “We are taking positives from the game and looking to learn.
In spite of the loss, LSG will look to recover at their next game on March 27.
