Rashid Khan dismisses Priyansh Arya in GT vs PBKS
Rashid’s sole success in the match was when he got rid of debutant Priyansh Arya. Punjab Kings were scoring rapidly in the powerplay, and Gujarat Titans required a breakthrough. Captain Shubman Gill looked towards Rashid, expecting a wicket.
Rashid delivered a tossed-up ball with no turn and bounce. Priyansh attempted to hit a big shot but misjudged it. The top edge of the bat carried the ball high in the air. Sai Sudharsan caught the ball safely to get Priyansh dismissed at 47 runs.
Later, Rashid could not contain the Punjab Kings’ batsmen. They scored an enormous total of 243/5. Punjab Kings’ captain Shreyas Iyer scored a fine knock of 97* runs. Shashank Singh also chipped in with a quick 44*.
Gujarat Titans struggled hard while chasing and were short by 11 runs. In spite of the loss, Rashid’s record still stands as a huge feat in his IPL career.
