NZ vs IND: India’s batting lineup gave a stunning performance against New Zealand’s lethal bowling attack as the Men in Blue registered dismissed at 249 at the end of 50 overs of the 12th match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Notably, India is currently clashing against New Zealand For their last League stage match of the Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
After winning the toss, the Kiwi skipper Mitchell Santner invited India to bat first putting them in a spot. New Zealand’s fast bowler Matt Henry troubled them early, dismissing India’s opener Shubman Gill for 2 runs in the powerplay. He then dismissed Virat Kohli in his 300th ODI match for 11 runs, putting India under pressure.

Shreyas Iyer and Hardik Pandya’s attacking knocks of 79 and 45 off 98 and 45 balls respectively helped India post a target of 250, as the Men in Blue aim to continue their winning streak in the tournament.
The kiwis’ Matt Henry picked a five wicket haul to dismantle India’s team top and lower batting order.

‘The surface helped and put India under pressure’ – Matt Henry Analyses New Zealand’s bowling attack and Dubai’s Pitch in NZ vs IND
Speaking in the mid innings, Matt Henry reflected on his team’s performance against India in the first innings.
Henry noted, “I think the way we came out there and the surface helped and put India under pressure. Very happy with the total but still need to do a big job with the bat. We talked about getting wickets and the pressure was getting us wickets. There are some ebbs and flows on this wicket and if we can put the pressure back on, that should help us.”
