ICC ODI Batting Rankings: Shubman Gill Stays on Top; Virat Kohli Moves Up in Top 5

India’s opener Shubman Gill has strengthened his position as the world’s number-one ODI batter, as he retained his place at the top of the ICC ODI Batting Rankings. He played a key role in helping India reach the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy, scoring an unbeaten 101 against Bangladesh and 46 against Pakistan in Dubai.

Gill’s strong performances earned him 21 more rating points, taking his total to 817. This has increased his lead over second-placed Babar Azam from 23 to 47 points.

Virat Kohli Moves to Fifth on ICC ODI Batting Rankings; KL Rahul Climbs Up

Virat Kohli’s unbeaten century against Pakistan has helped him move up to fifth place in the ICC ODI Batting Rankings, overtaking New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell. KL Rahul has also improved, climbing two places to 15th after scoring 41* against Bangladesh.

New Zealand Batters Make Big Gains on ICC ODI Batting Rankings

Several New Zealand players have improved their rankings. Will Young has jumped eight spots to 14th after a century against Pakistan. Tom Latham has moved up 11 places to 30th, while Rachin Ravindra’s century against Bangladesh has lifted him 18 spots to 24th. Glenn Phillips has also climbed 12 places to 28th.

Other Notable Changes in Batting Rankings

Australia’s Alex Carey has moved up four spots to 50th, while his teammate Josh Inglis has jumped 18 places to 81st. Bangladesh’s Towhid Hridoy has climbed 18 places to 64th, and Jaker Ali has made a huge leap of 64 places to 94th.

Maharaj and Henry Enter Top Five in ICC ODI Bowling Rankings

Meanwhile in the bowling rankings, South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj and New Zealand’s Matt Henry have entered the top five after strong performances. Australia’s Adam Zampa has also moved up to 10th place after taking two wickets in a close match against England.

With the Champions Trophy now in the knockout stage, more ranking changes are expected as top players continue to perform well.
