Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women (RCB-W) defeated Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W) by four wickets after chasing down the target of 168 runs in 19.5 overs. The trend of winning the toss and chasing continued in this edition of the WPL. MI-W started their campaign in Bengaluru on a positive note.

Smriti Mandhana gave her team a fantastic start with a series of boundaries, making it look like she would dominate the game. However, her innings came to an unexpected end when she was dismissed by Shabnim Ismail.
Following Mandhana’s departure, MI-W tightened their bowling and began taking wickets, disrupting RCB-W’s momentum. Despite the pressure, Ellyse Perry remained steady at one end and found a reliable partner in Richa Ghosh. Together, they combined caution with aggression, forming a vital 50-run partnership that helped stabilise the innings.
Ghosh eventually fell while trying to accelerate the scoring, but Perry continued to play confidently. Her impressive performance saw her finish with a remarkable 81 runs off just 43 balls, marking her highest score in the WPL. Her efforts helped RCB-W surpass the 160-run mark, finishing with a total of 167 runs for seven wickets.
Amanjot Kaur stood out as the best bowler for MI, taking crucial wickets, but the rest of the bowling attack struggled to maintain consistency. This match also saw RCB-W achieve their highest score against MI-W.
Second Innings: Harmanpreet Kaur, along with Amanjot, led MI-W to the second win of the season
Although there wasn’t as much dew on the field as seen in Vadodara, Amanjot Kaur played a key role for MI-W. She held one end and made some important runs towards the end of the innings.
MI-W scored 66 runs during the powerplay, and it seemed like they would easily chase down the target. However, things took a turn during the middle overs when MI-W struggled, scoring only 14 runs while losing two wickets in just four overs.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur joined Amanjot in the 10th over, and together, they built an important 62-run partnership that helped MI-W regain their momentum. Despite a slight hiccup in the 18th over, Amanjot remained calm and guided her team to victory.
